The spokesperson for Junts in Congress demands that the Generalitat manage the tracks, trains, and railway funds. Nogueras considers Óscar Puente's departure from the Ministry of Transport to be a given.

The spokesperson for Junts in Congress, Miriam Nogueras, claims she cannot imagine any other scenario than the resignation of the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente. According to Europa Press, she stated this in an interview on the programme La Mirada Crítica on Telecinco, where she recalled that her party had already called for his resignation last Friday.

Nogueras is unsure if someone facilitated the minister's exit, although she believes the decision was his own. She did not want to comment on whether it is plausible that Puente informed Pedro Sánchez of his decision just minutes before announcing it. For the spokesperson, the manner of resignation is of little importance: "it doesn't matter how he resigned," as she considers the minister did not perform well.

"The part about how the resignation happened does not interest us; what matters is that the work is done with rigor"

Among the reasons for her criticism, Nogueras cited a collision in Martorell with a machine, which occurred during the Permanent Deputation. According to her, these accidents are the result of years of disinvestment, centralisation, and lack of planning. Therefore, Junts calls for the complete transfer of tracks, trains, and resources to Catalonia, so they can be managed locally.

The spokesperson reminded that the minister himself admitted that there had been no planning for many years and that there had been "very significant" disinvestment. Regarding the Generalitat, led by Salvador Illa, Nogueras accused it of being "very absent in all this." She also acknowledged that problems do not get resolved overnight.

In contrast to Rodalies and the AVE, Nogueras defended that the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat do function and maintain punctuality. According to her data, the previous day 15 out of 19 lines of Catalonia's Cercanías had incidents, six of which were serious, while the Ferrocarrils recorded "zero" incidents. She added that Renfe's punctuality is 30% and that of the Ferrocarrils is 98%.

"The big difference is the professionalisation and not the politicisation of public services"

For the deputy, the difference between the two companies lies in the professionalisation of their teams, compared to the "friend committees" that, she said, have been created in Renfe over the years. When asked if Junts' votes could end up in the right-wing bloc, she replied that her party does not need to "change narratives" and will remain "far from the disputes of the Spanish blocs."
