The Junts candidate for Congress, Miriam Nogueras, replies to the president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, asserting that her party is growing as a centrist force. She calls for Catalan funds to be managed from Catalonia.

The candidate of Junts for the Congress in the general elections, Miriam Nogueras, responded this Sunday to the president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, who on Saturday reproached her party for wanting to position itself in the centre. According to pressdigital.es, the leader argues that what bothers the president is something else.

"Those in the middle are growing every day"

Nogueras defends that co-official languages can be used today in the Congress thanks to her party's work. She recalls that just a few years ago, socialists expelled Catalans for speaking Catalan in the Cortes Generales, according to a statement from Junts.

"Socialists expelled Catalans for speaking Catalan"

The candidate reproaches PSC and ERC for not standing up to defend Catalonia when they had the chance. She identifies the management of Catalan resources and the defence of the language as campaign priorities.

Nogueras asserts the role of her 7 deputies in the lower house and states that the elections on 29 November are not about what suits Pedro Sánchez or Alberto Núñez Feijóo.

"It's not about what suits Sánchez or Feijóo, but what suits Catalonia"

To negotiate with Junts, the candidate sets a specific condition: that Catalan funds be collected, managed, and decided from Catalonia. She will bring these same issues to the electoral debate of Catalan candidates that RTVE will broadcast this Sunday night.
