A car fell onto the tracks this morning, disrupting R4 train services. Fortunately, no passengers were injured during the incident.

A car plunged onto the railway tracks early this morning, causing significant disruption to the R4 train line between Cerdanyola del Vallès and Terrassa Estació del Nord. The incident occurred around 9:43 AM on Moragas i Barret street in Sabadell, prompting immediate action from emergency services.

Upon receiving the alert, five fire units from Bombers de la Generalitat rushed to the scene. Of the four individuals inside the vehicle, three managed to exit without assistance. The fourth occupant was escorted approximately 300 meters to the nearest station for medical evaluation.

The timely response of emergency personnel ensured that a train traveling on the affected line was able to stop before reaching the vehicle. Remarkably, there were no injuries reported among passengers on board at that time.

In light of this incident, Protección Civil activated a pre-alert under their Ferrocat plan, which is designed for emergencies involving railways. This protocol aims to ensure safety and facilitate rapid response in such situations.

By 10:50 AM, railway operators announced that services had resumed in this section of track and trains were gradually returning to their normal schedules. Commuters can expect delays as operations stabilize throughout the day.

This incident serves as a reminder of similar occurrences in recent years where vehicles have encroached upon railway lines due to accidents or negligence. In fact, a comparable event took place last summer when another vehicle fell onto tracks near Barcelona, resulting in extensive service interruptions.

For those traveling along this route today or planning future journeys on the R4 line, it is advisable to check real-time updates from local transport authorities for any ongoing disruptions or changes in schedule.
