The city of Barcelona has launched a project to convert nearly 3,000 square meters into a new green area, enhancing local heritage and community spaces. This initiative is part of a broader urban improvement strategy.
In a significant move towards urban renewal, the city of Barcelona has commenced construction on a new green space between Lepant and Padilla streets in the Horta-Guinardó district. This project aims to transform an area of 2,995 square meters into a vibrant public park that honors the historical path of the ancient Lligalbé stream.

The initiative is expected to take approximately eight months to complete and comes with an investment of €969,000. It will not only create recreational areas but also integrate elements that reflect the area’s rich history. The design includes pathways that connect with the existing Sant Pere passage, ensuring continuity and accessibility for residents.

The new park will feature around 1,450 square meters dedicated to greenery, showcasing diverse plant species including trees, shrubs, ground cover plants, and grasses. Existing trees will be preserved while over thirty new specimens will be added.
