The Guàrdia Urbana will deploy additional officers throughout the city, focusing on areas with high foot traffic such as beaches and popular gathering spots. Their primary goal is to prevent incidents that could disrupt public safety or disturb local residents. Special attention will be given to locations where combustible materials might accumulate, particularly in forested areas like Collserola.

Starting at 5 AM on June 23 until midnight on June 24, TMB plans to operate continuously for a total of 43 hours. Additionally, there will be up to 18 extra trains running during peak hours to facilitate mobility.
“Our goal is to provide safe and efficient transportation options for everyone celebrating this important holiday,” stated a TMB representative.

This year’s festivities also include new community support initiatives aimed at preventing gender-based violence. The city will establish two nighttime Lila points—dedicated spaces for addressing sexual violence—located along popular beach promenades. These points will operate from 11 PM until 6 AM, staffed by trained professionals ready to assist those in need.
A local activist emphasized, “Creating safe spaces during celebrations is crucial for fostering an inclusive environment.”
Cleansing efforts post-celebration
The city has also prepared an extensive cleaning operation following the festivities. A total of 532 personnel, supported by 223 vehicles, will work diligently from early morning on June 24 to clean up beaches and other celebration sites across all ten districts. This effort aims not only at maintaining cleanliness but also at ensuring that public spaces remain welcoming after large gatherings.
A municipal official remarked, “We want our beaches and parks to be pristine for everyone who enjoys them after Sant Joan.”
