CreaTibi opens at Tibidabo on June 20, offering LEGO and robotics activities for children. This initiative aims to enhance family experiences through playful learning.

The iconic Tibidabo amusement park in Barcelona is set to unveil its latest attraction, CreaTibi, on June 20. This innovative space will provide children and young people with opportunities to engage in creative activities centered around LEGO and robotics. The opening ceremony will commence at 10:00 AM, featuring representatives from the park and Abacus, the cooperative behind this exciting project.

New educational experiences for families

CreaTibi represents a significant shift in how the park approaches family entertainment. Designed to foster learning through play, the new area encourages exploration and imagination among its young visitors. With a focus on creativity, CreaTibi aims to align with Tibidabo’s core values by creating an environment where children can learn while having fun.

Innovative layout enhances engagement

The redesigned space features two main zones: a flexible free play area accessible to all visitors and a dedicated robotics section that introduces computational thinking through interactive play. Children aged between three and twelve can participate in age-appropriate activities tailored to their developmental stages.

“The goal is to go beyond traditional classroom settings,” said an Abacus representative during the project’s announcement.

Activities designed for diverse age groups

Younger children will enjoy symbolic play by creating figures and stories or interacting with the Blue-Bot robot. In contrast, older kids can design structures using vertical LEGO panels inspired by various themes or even program video games on Retro Arcade consoles. Reservations are required for access to CreaTibi, ensuring an organized experience for all participants.

A commitment to transformative education

This initiative marks over fifty-seven years of Abacus’s dedication to transformative education through play and culture. By establishing CreaTibi within Tibidabo, they aim not only to entertain but also to provide meaningful learning experiences that extend beyond conventional educational environments.

Special event highlights children’s right to play

Coinciding with the launch of CreaTibi is a special event celebrating UNICEF’s Day of Play on June 21. This initiative emphasizes play as a universal right for children while raising awareness about global disparities in access to recreational activities. Families visiting Tibidabo can participate from noon until 5 PM at Plaça dels Somnis, engaging in collaborative games designed to reflect on these critical issues.

The introduction of CreaTibi is more than just an expansion of attractions; it symbolizes a broader commitment by Tibidabo and Abacus towards nurturing creativity and learning among younger generations. As families flock to this beloved amusement park, they will find not only rides but also enriching experiences that inspire curiosity and innovation.
