The Assemblea Educativa de Catalunya has announced a strike for September 8, coinciding with the start of the academic year, to push for urgent educational reforms.

Rodrigo stated, “We do not want to wait until the school year begins to start discussions.” The AEC is calling on the Catalan government to urgently convene a negotiation table with strike committee representatives. “The reality is concerning,” she remarked. “We believe there’s a serious problem with how Catalan is integrated into our education system.” Additionally, concerns were voiced over recent appointments within the Department of Education that questioned linguistic unity across Catalonia.
